Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) of Bener Meriah Regency in 2024 reflects significant progress in human development within the region. The HDI is measured through three main dimensions: health (longevity and healthy life), education (knowledge), and a decent standard of living. In 2024, Bener Meriah's HDI reached 75.01, classified as "high," marking an increase of 0.52 points compared to the previous year. This growth is supported by an increase in life expectancy to 73 years, expected years of schooling of 13.73 years, mean years of schooling of 10.13 years, and per capita expenditure of Rp12,360,000.The improvement in HDI in Bener Meriah Regency reflects the effectiveness of development programs in the health, education, and economic sectors implemented by the local government. However, challenges remain in achieving equitable development and enhancing the quality of life for all residents. With this positive trend, it is hoped that Bener Meriah's HDI will continue to rise, serving as an indicator of success in realizing high-quality human resources.
